A further verbose boot would show Ethernet port connected and then not (when cable removed). Tried iMac Leopard DVD but not luck.Ĭonnected Ethernet to router (& Internet) and tried recovery boot via apple servers but same result. While booted to the original OS X you can access the original system disc dmg on the 12GB partition.

Tried booting using MacBook Pro Snow Leopard DVD which ran through to language selection then rejected hardware (as it should). This added the boot.efi files to the partition so it will boot. or start by pressing the Option key to get a list of the bootable devices.

I tried 3 different Mac OS versions (10.8.5,10.9.5,10.12.5) a Windows 8.1 version and the currently running ubuntu to get the USB Flash Drive bootable, did the 'USB Flash Drive. usually it is booting by pressing the C key to start from the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. The USB Flash Drive (Sandisk Cruzer Fit, bought as recommended) won't boot, simple as that. Executed single user boot and confirmed drive is OK.Īs unit is second hand do not have original instal DVD. Trying out unRAID on this Mac mini turned out harder than I thought.
